Bryan County is seeking an Emergency Management Agency EMA Director to join their leadership team. Bryan County is one of the fastest growing counties in the United States due to its proximity to Atlantic Coast, ports, and to Savannah, Georgia. Bryan County is unique in that it is completely bisected by Fort Stewart and because of this, has County facilities in two locations. Bryan County’s transportation infrastructure includes Interstates 95 and 16 that create easy access to the cities of Richmond Hill in the southern portion and Pembroke, the county seat, in the north. The most recent population is estimated to be 50,000 citizens, but the Pembroke area will soon see rapid industrial expansion with the construction of the Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America estimated to bring 8,500 jobs. Five county district commissioners and a countywide Chairman are elected as Bryan County’s governing authority to serve four-year terms. Bryan County’s day-to-day operations are overseen by a County Administrator who is appointed by the Commission. This position reports to the County Administrator. The Bryan County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) Director is a pivotal role responsible for safeguarding the community through comprehensive disaster preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation efforts. Reporting directly to the County Administrator, the EMA Director will develop, implement, and manage county-wide emergency management programs, ensuring coordinated efforts with local, state, and federal agencies. Key responsibilities include overseeing the development of emergency plans, managing disaster response operations, conducting training and exercises for first responders, and engaging with the community to enhance public awareness and preparedness. The EMA Director will also serve as the primary point of contact during emergencies, leading the County’s efforts to protect life and property.

Minimum Qualifications
Compensation & Benefits: The expected starting salary range for this position is $80,000 - $95,000 (depending on qualifications of the selected candidate), with a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, life insurance and retirement benefits. Relocation expenses negotiable.
