The City of Canton, GA is currently recruiting for the position of Finance Director. This position
is responsible for directing the City’s financial operations including accounting, budgeting,
payroll, procurement, audits, and financial record keeping.
Core Duties
Developing and maintaining the City’s operating and capital budgets.
Providing annual recommendations and presentations for millage rate adoptions. Preparing and
reviewing financial reports to local, state and federal government agencies.
Working with other City departments and external auditors to complete the Annual Comprehensive
Financial Report.
Overseeing payables and payroll. Supervising staff.
Qualifications
Qualified candidates should possess a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business
administration or related field accompanied by ten (10) years of experience in public/local
government financial management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A CPA
license is preferred.

can be made pre-tax and/or post-tax (ROTH).
Compensation will be based on qualifications and experience.
