Examples of Duties: Under the supervision of the Compensation and Compliance Manager, you
- Perform complex analytical work related to the County’s compensation and compliance programs.
- Supervise and mentor compensation analyst staff, offering guidance, technical assistance, and training to ensure team efficiency and adherence to policies.
- Perform comprehensive analyses of jobs to determine appropriate classification and compensation levels and develop solutions to compensation issues.
- Conduct in-depth analyses of internal and external compensation data.
- Analyze work in wage and salary administration.
- Prepare and present concise reports to propose recommendations to Human Resources leadership.
- Provide analytical services to the HR Department by assisting in decision-making on a variety of compensation and administrative issues.
- Support the annual merit, longevity pay, and leave liability reporting cycles.
- Administer various compliance programs including developing policies and guidelines that ensure compliance with established laws, rules, and regulations.
- Use reporting tools and database technology for the Human Resources operations to maximize customer satisfaction, staff effectiveness, and information as a management tool.
- Assist with developing policies and procedures and facilitating training programs related to compensation and compliance issues.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a closely related field, and
- At least three (3) years of progressively responsible Human Resources or Classification and Compensation experience in a public sector environment; or
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Experience in a profession other than Human Resources that requires strong analytical skills may substitute for the experience requirement.
Preferred Qualifications:
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), or Professional in Human Resources (PHR).
Successful candidates will possess these qualifications:
- Strong analytical skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
