Accounting Coordinator                                                                               Hourly Range : $22.13— $30.99

The Position:

This position is responsible for coordinating financial accounting functions for the city.

Major Duties:

· Researches, prepares and codes payables for proper classification of accounts.

· Executes and prepares checks for payments to vendors.

· Maintains accounts payable files and records.

· Processes bi-weekly payroll and payroll taxes.

· Maintains monthly fuel usage records.

· Maintains monthly warehouse inventory records.

· Invoices customers for miscellaneous receivables.

· Reconciles daily utility balance sheets to check reports and deposits receipts.

· Makes employee travel and training reservations.

· Distributes inventoried supplies to employees in the absence of the Purchasing Agent.

· Assists in the operation of the municipal court functions.

· Reconciles credit card receivables.

· Reconciles maintenance records; distributes petty cash reimbursements.

· Provide limited back up to the Finance Director in their absence.

· Performs related duties.

Minimum Qualifications:

· Baccalaureate degree in a course of study related to the occupational field required.

· More than two years of related experience required.

· Experience in public sector accounting is highly desirable.

· Possession of or the ability to obtain Local Government Level 1 Finance Officer Certification.
