Job Description
The Trades Technician Supervisor is responsible for supervising staff that will be performing journeyman trades for plumbing; complex installations and repairs; preventative maintenance; and inspecting equipment. This position will be responsible for training staff; prioritizing, assigning and monitoring work; and ensuring a healthy and safe work environment .
Essential Duties
Supervising, training, and evaluating staff
Making hiring and disciplinary recommendations
Prioritizing, assigning and monitoring work
Inspecting equipment and determining needed repairs
Overseeing the daily operations to include long range planning, coordinating repairs, and assisting with the division budget
Assists in determining policies and procedures for the division
Ensuring that staff follows proper policies and procedures
Maintaining a healthy and safe work environment

This job requires a public safety background check to include motor vehicle histories, criminal history, and fingerprinting.

The grade for this position is B32(2)

Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED
Up to one year of specialized training in general trades
Seven years of progressively responsible trades experience, some of which is in a supervisory role
Or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above
Valid driver's license
