What You'll Do:

  • Oversee construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Manage contractors and inspection staff, ensuring compliance with project requirements.
  • Perform construction inspections, track progress, and address challenges proactively.
  • Coordinate with city departments and stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Maintain detailed project records, ensuring compliance with GDOT and federal standards.
  • Respond to construction-related emergencies and provide technical support to the public.
  • Conduct progress meetings, approve invoices, and prepare comprehensive reports.
  • Manage project closeouts, including punch list inspections and facility startup coordination.

What You Bring:

  • Education & Experience:
  • Associate's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (Bachelor's preferred).
  • 4+ years of experience in construction management (6+ years preferred).
  • Familiarity with GDOT Local Administered Project (LAP) processes.
  • Licenses & Certifications:
  • Valid Georgia driver's license.
  • Preferred: GDOT LAP certification and GSWCC Certification for Erosion and Sedimentation Control.
  • Skills & Knowledge:
  • Proficiency in interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
  • Knowledge of state and federal environmental regulations and public works materials.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills to manage contractors and engage with stakeholders.
  • Ability to handle emergencies and maintain accurate reports and records.

We offer competitive wages starting from $41.04 to $46.73 per hour with a potential starting salary of $85,365 to $97,203 annualized for an 80-hour schedule. This position is non-exempt, and overtime may be required.
