What You'll Do:

• Create and review designs for transportation improvements, including drainage and safety enhancements.

• Conduct field investigations of roads and intersections to identify improvement opportunities.

• Apply GDOT, MUTCD, and municipal standards to ensure project compliance.

• Coordinate with stakeholders to move projects from concept to completion on time and within budget.

• Assist with right-of-way acquisition, utility coordination, and contract procurement.

• Use GIS tools to analyze transportation issues and prepare project maps and databases.

• Provide expertise and oversight for contractors and consultants on capital projects.

• Address resident and business concerns by planning and executing innovative solutions.

What You Bring:

• Education & Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.

• 2 years of experience in transportation or civil engineering (5 years preferred).

• Familiarity with GDOT manuals and processes.

• Preferred Qualifications:

• Professional Engineering License.

• GDOT Local Administered Project (LAP), Plan Development Process (PDP), or ROW Acquisition Training.

• Skills & Knowledge:

• Proficiency in transportation engineering practices, codes, and ordinances.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.

• Clear and concise written and verbal communication abilities.

• Creativity and sound judgment for resolving complex engineering challenges.

• Licenses & Certifications:

• EIT certification or ability to obtain.

• Valid Georgia driver's license.
