Apprentice Lineworker Hourly Range : $20.52 - $28.73
The Position:
This position is responsible for performing skilled, technical work of apprentice level in the construction, maintenance and repair of electrical distribution lines and telecommunication lines in conformance with accepted safety and electrical standards.
Major Duties:
· Builds, installs and connects transformers, meters, UDR cable, and other equipment on overhead and underground distribution
· Strings wire and sets poles and other related equipment used on the distribution system; assists with the duties of apprentice lineman
· Trims tree limbs obstructing and endangering electric lines.
· Performs "on-call" duty after hours and on weekends and holidays; identifies problems and repairs electrical distribution system or telecommunications lines.
· Assists lineworker in job duties.
Minimum Qualifications:
· High School Diploma or equivalent, possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver’s license issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
· Course work in electrical line repair and construction; and more than two years of progressively responsible related experience; or, Apprentice Line Training and certification preferred not required;
· ITS (Substation) Certification, preferred
· CDL Class B preferred
