Chatham County Government has an immediate opening for a Compensation and Compliance Manager within the Human Resources Department. If you meet the minimum qualifications, you are encouraged to apply.

 

Examples of Duties: Under the guidance of the Human Resources Director, you will

  • Manage the job classification system, administer the pay plan, and facilitate personnel transactions.
  • Oversee County leave programs, document control and records management, employment verification, and Georgia Open Records Act requests.
  • Determine appropriate position allocations, supervise the development of class specifications, and assist with implementing and monitoring the merit appraisal pay program, employee accruals, and terminal leave payouts.
  • Ensure the completion of salary surveys and associated requests for related data from internal and external sources.
  • Ensure that the County complies with various employment laws, including I-9 administration, FMLA, and FLSA.
  • Ensure the completion of required EEO reports and filings to the federal government.
  • Assist in developing and implementing new policies and procedures to maintain compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
  • Confer with Department Heads, County Officials, and employees to resolve issues of position allocation, review out-of-scope work assignments, and interpret personnel policies and procedures.
  • Prepare dashboards and perform compensation analysis to review salaries concerning internal equity, compression, and external competitiveness.
  • Prepare reports and attend meetings, conferences, programs, or other related functions.
  • Manage a team that includes a Senior HR Classification and Compensation Analyst, Human Resources Analysts, a Position Control Specialist, and a Human Resources Specialist.
  • Work closely with the other Human Resources Managers to ensure interconnection between the teams for efficient departmental operation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management, Public Administration, Business Administration, Psychology, or a closely related field, and
  • At least six (6) years of experience in human resources administration, at least three (3) of which are directly related to job classification and compensation; or
  • Any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Supervisory experience is desirable.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and HRIS systems is highly desirable.
  • SPHR/PHR, SHRM-SCP/CP or equivalent Human Resources certification is preferred.
