The Deputy County Administrator is a key member of this executive team, providing leadership and operational oversight to ensure the successful implementation of policies, programs, and citywide initiatives.

Augusta, Georgia Government is searching for an experienced and visionary Deputy County Administrator to assist in managing the daily operations of the government and advancing key strategic priorities. Under the direction of the County Administrator, the Deputy County Administrator will oversee various departments, collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, and ensure the efficient delivery of services to the community. This position will play a pivotal role in driving policy implementation, coordinating interdepartmental initiatives, and supporting long-term planning efforts that align with Augusta’s goals.

The selected candidate must possess a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Public Administration, Public Policy, Business, or a closely related field. A master’s degree is preferred. Additionally, candidates must have at least seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in a local government organization—preferably in a top manager’s office—of which at least three (3) years must be in a managerial capacity. The Deputy County Administrator will be responsible for providing high-level leadership, policy guidance, and operational oversight across multiple departments. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, problem-solver, and experienced public administrator with a strong background in local government operations, policy development, and organizational leadership.

Augusta, Georgia Government offers a competitive salary starting at $117,010.00, dependent upon qualifications and experience. This position provides an opportunity to be part of an innovative leadership team dedicated to driving government excellence, community engagement, and long-term success.
