The McRae-Helena Fire Department will begin accepting applications for a full-time firefighter position. The applications can be picked up at the McRae-Helena Fire Department located at 181 East Oak Street in McRae- Helena or upon request emailed. All applications must be turned in by February 19, 2025 at 5:00 pm.

Minimum age to apply is 18 years of age. High school diploma or equivalent is required. All applicants will be required to have Firefighter 1 and First Responder Certifications or be willing to get this training at the Georgia Public Safety Training Center. You must get your state certification and maintain it with at least 24 hours of ongoing training annually. You must have a valid driver’s license and willing to get a Class F license or greater. It is preferable, but not required, that all applicants live within ten miles of McRae-Helena. Hiring process to include: Physical Fitness Test, Physical Agility Test, Background Investigation, Oral Board Interview, Physical Examination, Drug and Alcohol Screening.

Pay will be based on experience and certifications.
