The City of Johns Creek seeks a dedicated and detail-oriented Field Services Superintendent to oversee and inspect all aspects of street maintenance and repair operations. This position ensures that street and sidewalk repairs, curb and gutter replacements, and related infrastructure projects meet city, state, and federal standards while maintaining efficiency and safety.
Key Responsibilities
•Coordinate and monitor street and sidewalk maintenance, including patching, resurfacing, and curb/gutter replacements.
•Develop schedules, allocate resources, and ensure timely project completion.
•Inspect city roads, bridges, and drainage areas to ensure safety and construction standards compliance.
•Oversee contractors, technical staff, and administrative teams to maintain quality control and adherence to regulations.
•Respond to emergency calls regarding roadway obstructions or maintenance issues as needed.
•Assist in managing construction projects and ensure adherence to best practices.
•Maintain records, prepare reports, and provide project updates to stakeholders.
•Ensure compliance with MUTCD safety standards and industry regulations.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
•Associate's degree in civil engineering or a related field.
•Three (3) years of experience in public works operations, construction inspection, or highway construction.
•Valid driver's license issued by the State of Georgia.
•GA SWCC Level 1B certification or ability to obtain.
Preferred Qualifications:
•Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field.
•Five (5) years of experience in field services, including maintenance and improvement projects.
•Project management experience.
Skills & Abilities
•Strong knowledge of construction principles, road maintenance techniques, and paving practices.
•Ability to read and interpret blueprints, surveys, and job specifications.
•Excellent communication and leadership skills.
•Proficiency in managing resources, resolving complex issues, and ensuring compliance with regulations.
•Ability to work independently and respond to emergencies outside regular work hours.
