DEPARTMENT:      Keep Walton Beautiful / Recycling

ENTRY SALARY:   $19.22 per hour, plus benefits

JOB SUMMARY:    This position performs technical duties in support of the operations of the Recycling Center.
Operates a forklift, Bobcat, compactor, baling machine, and other vehicles and equipment. Assists the general public by receiving recyclable materials and providing general recycling information. Sorts recyclable materials into proper areas. Maintains, repairs, and operates recycling equipment. Empties and maintains recycling bins. Cleans and maintains pathways and roadways. Operates paper recycling truck to collect recyclables from schools and business. Operates scale house. Transports inmate laborers to and from jail. Performs related duties.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to read, write and perform mathematical calculations at a level commonly associated with the completion of high school or equivalent. Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years. Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver’s license issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
