The City of Hinesville is seeking applications for a Human Resources Generalist. This role involves performing professional HR duties and managing the workers' compensation program, vehicle management, and benefits plans including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance. The position encompasses training and development, employee relations, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment/employment, benefits administration, and safety and risk management.

Major duties include:

  • Administer employee benefits programs
  • Manage Workers' Compensation program and serve as liaison with TPA
  • Oversee FMLA process, tracking leave and processing paperwork
  • Administer vehicle management and verify motor vehicle reports
  • Coordinate city’s annual trainings and events
  • Oversee the reconciliation of the payroll records and monthly invoices

Knowledge of state and federal employment laws, policies and procedures related to insurance and reporting accountability is required. Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive information and prepare clear reports. Candidate must have the ability to maintain confidentiality, establish effective relationships, and adapt to new challenges.

Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Public Administration, or Business Administration and with a minimum of three (3) years of professional level Human Resources experience required and supervisory experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for the job.  The minimum starting salary for the position is $53,364.31 plus an excellent benefits package.
