Full-time position in the Pike County Public Works Department responsible for the maintenance, repair and overhaul of a variety of vehicles and heavy equipment used by the Public Works Department and other Pike County Governmental Departments. Position requires performing routine maintenance checks and completing necessary repairs, ensuring all equipment is operational and safe for use and performing other duties as assigned. Maintain a clean and organized shop workspace, including tools and equipment, maintain inventory of parts and supplies and adhere to safety protocols. Must have a strong understanding of automotive and heavy equipment mechanics, including engine systems, electrical systems, hydraulics and transmission functions. Must have the ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues and identify root causes of malfunctions.
