The City of Brooklet, GA is a quaint, laid back small town  with a strong civic spirit where people know and rely on each other. Brooklet is located 5 miles south of Statesboro, GA and Georgia Southern University, 48 miles north of Savannah, GA and 62 miles from Tybee Island Beach.

The City of Brooklet, current population, 2,100+, is experiencing rapid community growth with a projected population of 3,500+ by the end of 2028. During the last term of the Georgia Legislature, a local act was approved and signed the Governor to change the City's charter to a council-manager form of government. 

The City of Brooklet is seeking a highly qualified, professional, innovative and visionary city manager to successfully manage the community's rapid growth, while at the same time protecting its hometown charcter through managed growth policies.

The successful candidate must possess demonstrated and outstanding professional management, communication, and leadership skills with the proven ability to work effectively and efficiently in the development of a successful city team environment. The successful candidate must possess the necessary technical skills to advise the governing body on a variety of issues associated with policy making and challenges confronting the city.

The successful candidate must have a proven record for successfully leading city departments, departments heads and personnel with a proven proactive leadership and management techniques, developinf annual budgets, monitoring city revenues and expenditures, and keeping the elected body and the public informed of the city's financial position.

The City requires candidates to have graduated from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in public administration, polical science, business management or a closely related field. A Master's Degree in public administration is prefered, and a minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience as an assistant city/county manager or administrator or preferably a city/county manager or adminstrator. Added consideration will be given to candidates that are full members of ICMA and ICMA Credentialed Managers.
