Recreation - Community Center Program Coordinator
Harris County, Georgia, population 36,000 and located in west central Georgia along the Alabama border 60 minutes southwest of Atlanta, 30 minutes north of Columbus, and home to Callaway Resort and Gardens and FDR State Park, is accepting applications for a full-time Program Coordinator reporting to the Director of the Recreation Department.
Harris County is seeking a Program Coordinator to plan and manage non-athletic programs, special events, and facility rentals at the Harris County Community Center and throughout the County. This role involves event planning, program development, facility scheduling, marketing, and staff supervision. Additional duties include coordinating facility rentals and reservations, preparing marketing materials, overseeing part-time staff and volunteers, and maintaining positive community relations.
The Program Coordinator must be able to work holidays, weekends, and evenings as needed and possess strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree and 1-2 years of related experience, or any equivalent education, experience, and training which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the work. Must possess or ability to readily obtain a valid driver’s license issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated. Must have the ability to obtain certification to supervise state inmates within three months of hire and possess or have the ability to obtain CPO/AFO certification within 6 months of hire. CPR/First Aid and WSI/American Red Cross lifeguard certifications must be possessed or obtained within 6 months.
The starting salary is $23.16 per hour, plus generous benefits including a five-year vesting schedule for retirement.
