The Community Development Specialist provides technical assistance to local governments in grant writing and administration, economic development, transportation, hazard mitigation, and community planning. This role involves project management, policy development, and innovative problem-solving to support effective governance.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist local governments with research, policy development, and project management.
Identify and secure funding opportunities through grants and loans.
Support community and economic development initiatives, including housing and infrastructure projects.
Facilitate the creation of strategic plans such as comprehensive and redevelopment plans.
Provide technical guidance on personnel management, budgeting, and legislative matters.
Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Public Policy, Urban Planning, or a related field is required, with a master’s degree preferred. Candidates should have experience in government operations, grant programs, and community planning. Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills are essential.
