Job Summary:
This position is responsible for preparing, securing and the eventual transport of open top and self-contained compactor containers to various disposal sites which include landfills, transfer facilities, and various customer job site locations.
Major Duties:
- Safely operate roll-off trucks to transport containers to and from customer sites, landfills, recycling centers, and transfer stations; this includes assisting with hooking and unhooking containers.
- Deliver and pick-up roll-off containers, ensuring accurate placement and secure loading and unloading, assist with hooking and unhooking.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, ensuring it is in proper working condition. Report any issues to the maintenance team.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations regarding the operation of commercials vehicles. Follow OSHA and DOT regulations and maintain required logs and documentation.
- Provide professional and courteous service to customers. Address any concerns or issues at the job site and report back to the supervisor.
- Plan and follow efficient routes for timely delivery and pick-up, optimizing fuel and ensuring schedule adherence.
- Follow company protocols and wear appropriate PPE. Ensure proper disposal of materials and attend safety meetings and training sessions as required.
- Complete and maintain accurate records, including delivery and pick-up logs, maintenance records, and time logs.
- Safely pick-up and deliver metals, glass, and other recyclable commodities.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Knowledge and level of competency which are commonly associated with completion of specialized training in the field of work, in addition to basic skills typically associated with a high school education.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience driving roll-off trucks or similar heavy vehicles.
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class B or higher with air brakes endorsement required with a clean driving record.
The successful candidate must pass a Background/Reference Check, and Pre-Employment Drug Screenings prior to the start of employment.
