POSITION SUMMARY
The City of Stonecrest is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to fill the position of Sports Summer Camp Supervisor. As a key member of the Recreation and Parks team, this role will oversee the operations of the city's sports summer camp program, ensuring a fun and safe experience for all participants.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Coordinate daily staff schedules, activities, policies, and procedures for the summer camps
- Oversee the daily operations of the camps, maintenance of accurate records, incident logs and other functions including indoor and outdoor games, sports, swimming, fitness activities, arts and crafts, on-site enrichment programs, and field trips
- Develop and implement daily/weekly activity schedules for campers
- Train, supervise, motivate, and evaluate a staff of camp counselors and volunteer counselors
- Maintain accurate records and forms, including employee timesheets, attendance sheets, behavioral incidents, accident reports, parental communication, and medical issues Establish and maintain an orderly and safe system to greet, escort and monitor campers throughout the camp day
- Assure provision of learning and enrichment opportunities through games and activities
- Resolve conflicts and maintain order among campers, and address behavioral issues and concerns
- Assure that all safety and health protocols are followed, including performing first aid and addressing injuries as needed
- Serves as the health administrator for the camp
- Demonstrate independent judgement, tactfulness and excellent customer service!
- Performs related duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A minimum of two (2) years of experience volunteering, teaching, leading, or instructing children in an organized recreational or a childcare setting, or an equivalent combination of training and experience which provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Completion of two (2) years of college. Also, supervisory experience in a children’s setting. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
Certificates, Licenses and Registrations
Must have a valid and current certification in CPR/AED and First Aid upon date of hire. Must have a valid Georgia driver’s license and pass a motor vehicle record check.

- Ability to develop and teach educational programs for various age groups.

- Ability to effectively work with and to secure the confidence and cooperation of participants, the general public, and other employees in recreational activities.
- Ability to plan, assign, and coordinate the work of contract and temporary employees in recreational activities.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; talk and hear; use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.
- The employee is occasionally required to walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel and crouch.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
- Must conform to grooming and dress codes
- Work requires the ability to work safely with hazardous chemicals, including but not limited to: household cleaning and maintenance chemicals.
- While performing the duties of this job, work may require performance of tasks outdoors under varying environmental conditions, including heat, humidity, and biting insects/invertebrates.
This position is a contracted position from May 2025 – July 2025.
