The Spalding County Fire Department has openings for Fire Paramedic. Under limited supervision, supervises firefighters on an assigned shift in responding to emergency medical calls.  Assists the Fire Chief of Operations with various emergency medical functions.  Duties include responding to fire/rescue/medical emergency calls for saving/protecting life and property, driving/operating county emergency vehicles providing advanced life support to sick/injured persons, coordinating training activities, and coordinating maintenance of emergency medical equipment. Reports to the Captain and/or Battalion Chief for day-to-day operations. Reports to the EMS Lieutenant and/or the Fire Chief of Operations for Emergency Medical Policies or Protocols-related events.  MINIMUM TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS:   Must have a minimum of two (2) years of experience working as a Paramedic with an emergency medical service that provides advanced life support:  

• Maintain all Requirements as a Paramedic as established through the Georgia Office of EMS and Trauma

• Georgia Firefighter Standards and Training Certified Firefighter

• Maintains all Requirements of a Spalding County Firefighter  

• Maintain Georgia Class F Driver’s License

Preferred Qualifications:

• Paramedic/EMT Instructor

• American Heart Association BLS Instructor

• American Heart Association ACLS Instructor

• American Heart Association Pediatric Advance Life Support

• American Heart Association Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support
