Listing Summary

The City of Hinesville is accepting applications for the position of Records Clerk. This position is responsible for providing clerical and records support to the Hinesville Police Department.

Major responsibilities include:

  •  Manages the day-to-day operations of the Records Section.
  • Tracks, verifies, reports, and corrects the accuracy and completeness of various police reports.
  • Retrieves information from the records management computer system for official use by members of the police department.
  • Compiles statistical data for various reports, including NIBRS; provides motor vehicle accident data and traffic citation data to the Department of Highway Safety.
  • Verifies and updates criminal history information according to the policies and procedures of the Georgia Crime Information Center.
  • Conducts records checks for local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies.
  • Compiles, copies, and disseminates reports for various local, state, and federal criminal justice agencies and officials, defense attorneys, police officials, insurance agencies, the media, and authorized members of the public.
  • Turn in monies collected for reports to City Hall.
  • Prepares a daily reading file of all reports for the Chief of Police, Criminal Investigations Division and Captain – Administrative Services.
  • Performs some of the duties of Administrative Secretary, in his or her absence.

Minimum qualifications include:

  • Skill in maintaining accurate records and preparing reports.
  • Skill in utilizing such modern office equipment as a computer, fax and copier.
  • Skill in oral and written communication and interpersonal relations.
  • Ability to organize work for maximum efficiency.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma and one to two years of experience. Minimum starting salary is $36,119.06 plus excellent benefits. The position closes on May 15, 2025. Applications are accepted at www.cityofhinesville.org
