The City of McDonough is accepting applications for the position of Storm Water Engineer in the City’s Storm Water Department. Under the direction of the Public Works Director, this position is responsible for providing support in the implementation and management of the City’s Storm Water Management Program. This position will also be responsible for providing support for street, water and wastewater improvements for the City.
Major duties: Reviewing storm water management plans; keeping City in compliance with all storm water regulations including MS4 permit with the State of Georgia; preparing annual storm water report for the City; preparing design plans and submitting permit applications for City projects; reviewing preliminary plats, construction drawings, site plans, final plats and design packages; meeting with developers, contractors and engineers; conducting field inspections; and resolving customer service issues.
Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic models desired; experience with CADD and GIS computer software, GPS data collectors and basic surveying equipment desired.
Bachelor’s degree preferred in environmental science or related field from an accredited four-year college or university; Engineering degree desired; Georgia Soil and Water Conservation Commission certification preferred or ability to obtain certification within one year; Valid State of Georgia Driver’s License; Satisfactory motor vehicle report and criminal history; Pass pre-employment physical, drug and alcohol screen.
