Job Summary

The Electrical & Controls Crew Leader maintains the electrical, electronic and mechanical equipment at the Wastewater Treatment Plant, sewage lift stations, ground water wells, and elevated water storage tanks for the City of Statesboro.

Essential Job Functions

•Supervises and trains Electrical & Controls Technicians;

•Maintains and monitors electrical and electronic equipment;

•Inspects motors, functions, rotate pumps, and logs run times;

•Ensures the ultra violet system is fully functional with daily inspections and bi-monthly cleaning;

•Monitors process control equipment and lift station operations;

•Calibrates, monitors, and maintains flow meters;

•Performs preventive maintenance on meters, gas monitoring equipment, sampling devices, and process control equipment;

•Installs, calibrates, monitors, and maintains sewer monitoring devices;

•Reviews electrical drawings and modifies electrical drawings in order to achieve desired outcome;

•Repairs and replaces electrical components at wells and lift stations, including starters and motors;

•Performs inventory/property management;

•Maintains pressure filter controls, actuators, compressors, vacuum pumps, chlorination equipment, polymer and chemical feed systems, and other water pollution control and water filter equipment;


Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED;

• Three (3) years of experience in a related field;

• Or equivalent training, education, and/or experience; and

• Valid State of Georgia Driver’s License

Preferred Qualifications 

•Electrical and Instrumentation certifications
