The City of Milton is looking for a highly qualified individual to serve as our Permit Tech. The City is reorganizing the Building Inspection and Plan Review function and moving from an outsourced service delivery model to bringing those responsibilities in-house.
The Permit Technician assists the public by providing information at the counter, electronically, or by telephone in response to relatively routine questions regarding land disturbance regulations, land disturbance permit application, building ordinances and codes, building permit application process and procedures; assists the public in completing applications and other necessary forms; reviews applications.
Typical duties include:
Minimum Qualifications: A high school diploma or GED equivalency with two years of experience working in a building or planning department or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge. Must currently possess ICC Permit Technician Certification or be able to attain the certification within one year.
