Listing Summary

Major Duties and Responsibilities

Manages the daily operations of the Civic Center and Braselton trolleys. Key duties include promoting and developing the use of the Civic Center for sporting events, concerts, conventions, and local and civic events to promoters, agents, and local businesses and organizations by developing, writing and updating the building policy and procedure manual; supervising the booking and scheduling of events, rental rates, and contract settlements; approving marketing and advertising packages and works with food and beverage vendors and event ticketing agencies in negotiating contracts and leasing requirements. Additional duties include interviewing, hiring, training, assigning, supervising, evaluating and disciplining personnel; providing policy-level direction for the box office, food and beverage service, and facility operations and maintenance; preparing monthly and quarterly income, inventory, and facility inventory reports. Financial management duties include developing and administering the annual revenue and operating budget; recommending new revenue sources, monitoring approved budget, authorizing expenditures and assisting with audits when requested; ability to analyze and investigate complaints and concerns from the Town Manager, public officials, and the general public and recommend appropriate action for problem resolutions; must be committed to continuous quality improvements by preparing short and long-range strategic plans and performance standards including financial analysis, capital needs and project review. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Desired skills:
Experience managing events and shows (i.e. weddings, concerts, receptions, conventions, theatre) from inception to completion.  

Develop and manage bookings for ballroom, classrooms, theatre, outdoor activities including concerts (large and small), farmer’s markets, festivals, etc.  

Experience negotiating contracts, insurance and venue agreements with outside clients, including concert promoters, national touring companies, associations, government agencies, vendors, caterers, community groups.

Develop marketing, promotional and media initiatives for Center. (web site, social media, blogs, sales materials, media releases, etc.)

Manage financial and legal document preparation and business negotiations including financial budgeting, forecasting and capital projects.

Coordinate operational functionality of shows and events including ticketing, customer experience and safety.

Coordinate maintenance of facility through Town operating staff and vendor contracts.

Experience in managing and developing event staff and possess excellent interpersonal skills

This is a full time position with benefits.  The salary depends upon qualifications. 

Night work is required. 

Must have the ability to be bonded, pass background check and drug testing.
