The Department of Information Technology Services consists of five Divisions: Enterprise Applications/Development, Information Security, Infrastructure/Operations, Fiscal/Administrative and Business Strategic Services. The Enterprise Applications/Development Division has the overall responsibility for the development, maintenance and support of the core business systems supporting Gwinnett County Government.
The LIS team supports approximately 300 users in 5 major County departments, such as Planning and Development, Fire Marshall, Police, Water Resources and Support Services; providing design, implementation and administration services for Permitting, Inspection, Code Enforcement and Property Management.
This IT Systems Architect is responsible for Countywide or large Departmental systems and may serve as a project manager and coordinate projects between end-users and the IT Department and performs complex information technology work within DoITS.
The LIS ITS System Architect position is also responsible for administration, management, configuration, documentation, report writing, scripting and end-user support and testing of the Accela Automation system and its modules Citizen Access, Mobile Office, GIS, as well as the digital plan review software such as EPermit Hub, on an SQL Server 2012 R2 database platform, and SQL Server Reporting Services. The position is also responsible for planning, implementation and overseeing installation of upgrades to these systems.
The Systems Architect will be required to provide project management and ensure that the delivered solution matches the customer requirements. The incumbent will also be able to diagnose, resolve and document application problems in a timely and accurate fashion, while ensuring minimal downtime, and respond to system emergencies as required within a 24/7/365 support environment. The incumbent will also be required to be on-call after hours, weekends and holidays on a rotating schedule with other team members.
The incumbent will also be required to work with and mentor other ITS and departmental team members and provide managers with system status reports. The incumbent will also provide end user assistance, training, and support as required and be knowledgeable and remain updated on all advancements to the Accela application.
The Grade for this position is for Grade D61(1). Salary will be based on qualifications and experience.
