Listing Summary

The City of Chamblee seeks a full-time Business Development Coordinator. This position reports to the Economic Development Director and works closely with other city departments as well as local business leaders and regional organizations. Responsibilities include coordinating and executing business outreach, retention, and expansion functions. This includes duties such as interfacing with, and marketing to, businesses and other stakeholders or organizations in the community, promoting the city to prospective businesses and organizations and maintaining a favorable business development climate.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter with excellent interpersonal and communication skills as well as experience in technical assistance for businesses. Key attributes include the ability to cultivate positive working relationships with local business leaders, developers, members of the public, and local and regional stakeholders. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail and have excellent time management skills.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Public Administration, Public Policy, or a related field is required. 
  • Two (2) years of related experience.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be acceptable.
  • Georgia Certified Economic Developer and Georgia Academy for Economic Development certifications preferred.
