Jasper County Board of Commissioners is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant. The position requires a high degree of competency in accounting and financial reporting. Experience in governmental accounting preferred. The position will be responsible for participation in preparing for the County’s annual audit and annual budget. The position will assist in maintenance of the general ledger, capital assets, administration of capital projects and grants, and maintenance of various special revenue funds.
Requirements of the position include; possess strong analytical skills, an understanding of generally accepted accounting principles, experience with general ledger month end/year end close procedures, proficient Microsoft Excel skills, accuracy and attention to detail, the ability to write and administer state and federal grants, possess a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or finance.
