DEPARTMENT: Parks and Recreation, City of Cartersville
JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for maintaining safety and security and reporting any problems to the Direct Report (Director and/or Assistant Director) or the local law enforcement agency.
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED BY THE POSITION:
SUPERVISORY CONTROLS: The Park Attendant is assigned work by the Direct Reporting Supervisor. The work is reviewed for compliance with instructions and established procedures along with the nature and propriety of the final results.
GUIDELINES: Guidelines include city ordinances and relevant departmental policies and procedures. These guidelines are generally clear and specific, but may require some interpretation in application.
COMPLEXITY: The work consists of related Parks, Parking Lot and Facilities security duties.
SCOPE AND EFFECT: The purpose of this position is to monitor the Parks, Facilities, vehicles and parking lots for security. Successful performance helps ensure the safety of employees and program participants.
PERSONAL CONTACTS: Contacts are typically with program participants, members of the general public, co-workers, police officers and firefighters.
PURPOSE OF CONTACTS: Contacts are typically to give and exchange information and provide services.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The work is performed while sitting, standing, walking, bicycling, bending, crouching or stooping. The employee must occasionally lift light and heavy objects.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work is performed indoors and outdoors, where the employee is exposed to heat, cold or inclement weather.
