Pickens County has a job opening for a Public Applications Assistant in our Planning & Development Department. This is a full-time position and includes benefits.

Pay Rate: $14.06 per hour.

Job Summary

This position is responsible for providing administrative support for the operations of the Planning Department. *This position is primarily a customer service-based position within the Planning and Development Department focused on the intake and processing of licenses and permits.

Major Duties

 

  • Answers telephone and greets visitors; provides information and assistance; takes messages; refers to appropriate personnel.
  • Issues building permits, business licenses, and alcohol licenses.
  • Intakes and verifies; surveys and plats, building plans, and zoning applications.
  • Balances cash receipts.
  • Prepares daily reports.
  • Schedules inspections.
  • Performs related duties.

Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with completion of specialized training in the field of work, in addition to basic skills typically associated with a high school education.

Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years.
