The State Accounting Office (SAO) provides accounting and financial reporting expertise for the State and is responsible for statewide financial reporting, oversight and management of the State’s Peoplesoft Financial and Human Capital Management system, accounting policy business process improvement recommendations, and management of the SAO Shared Service Center.


Position Description:

The Systems Technology unit is seeking a PeopleSoft Developer 2 to become part of the team. The Systems Technology unit manages the State’s PeopleSoft Financials and Human Capital Management (HCM) applications that are managed for state agencies by SAO.

Pay Grade: N

Salary range: $52,331.12 - $74,758.74


Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Development, testing, deployment, and support of State of Georgia PeopleSoft HCM and Portal applications
  • Researching and analyzing program or system problems and developing program documentation
  • Translating business requirements into development activities in secure and maintainable code
  • Provides scheduled off hour support - this position will require availability for rotating off hours support

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with coursework in computer science or management information systems AND Two years of related experience.


Preferred Qualifications:

Preference may be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the Minimum Qualifications, possess the following:

  • 6+ years of experience implementing, developing, and supporting PeopleSoft HCM on 8.X or higher with at least 3 of those years on 9.X
  • Previous experience using PeopleSoft programming tools such as PeopleCode SQR and PeopleTools
  • Experience using Workflow, PeopleSoft Application Engine, Integration Broker, J2EE Developmental tools
  • Previous experience using PeopleSoft query
  • Experience with multiple PeopleSoft implementations/upgrades
  • Experience working with relational databases and a solid working knowledge of SQL
