Senior Accountant


Jasper County is seeking a Senior Accountant.  The position is responsible for assisting with accounting, financial reporting, and capital project activities for the county and proper posting of revenues and expenditures. This position is also responsible for assisting with preparation of the annual budget, bank reconciliations, journal entries, grants administration and documents, and the annual audit. Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel.  The successful candidate is expected to maintain a higher level of accounting knowledge and perform non-routine tasks in support of financial management. 


This position will require the knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance, or a closely related field with a minimum of one to two years of accounting experience. An understanding of government accounting is a plus.
