Animal Welfare & Enforcement Assistant Manager is responsible for assisting with managing the Field Operations animal welfare section to ensure compliance with local and state ordinances/laws and regulations. Ensures all calls for service, animal bites, animal cruelty complaints, dangerous dogs and vicious dogs’ complaints are handled for Animal Welfare and Enforcement. Ensures compliance with local and state ordinances/laws and regulations including the Georgia Department of Agriculture. Supervises staff to include prioritizing and assigning work; conducting performance evaluations; ensuring staff are trained; ensuring that employees follow policies and procedures; maintaining a healthy and safe working environment; and making hiring, termination, and disciplinary recommendations. Responsible for (8) direct reports including two field supervisors, two animal control officer III training officers, animal cruelty investigator, animal bite officer, and the court probation officer
Manages the activities of the Animal Welfare and Enforcement Section, which includes planning, developing, coordinating, implementing, administering, and evaluating programs, projects, processes, procedures, systems, standards, and/or service offerings; ensures compliance with Federal, State, and local laws, regulations, codes, and/or standards.
The grade for this position is 103.
