The City of Holly Springs, Georgia, has an opening for the position of Stormwater Inspector/Equipment Operator.
This position is responsible for the inspection of the city's stormwater system to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations. This position is also responsible for conducting weekly and post rainfall erosion control inspections to ensure construction site compliance with state and federal regulations. This position operates vehicles and equipment in the maintenance of city streets and rights-of-way.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING: Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with completion of specialized training in the field of work, in addition to basic skills typically associated with a high school education. Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for two to three years. Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver’s license issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated (Class “B” CDL). Possession of or ability to readily obtain the appropriate state certification for the type of inspection(s) conducted
Knowledge of stormwater maintenance principles and practices. Knowledge of state and federal environmental regulations related to stormwater management. Knowledge of the techniques, equipment, and supplies used in street and right-of-way maintenance. Knowledge of city safety policies and procedures. Knowledge of the geography of the city, including street names and locations. Skill in operation of assigned vehicles and equipment. Skill in prioritizing and planning. Skill in interpersonal relations. Skill in oral and written communication.
