Job Type: Full Time

The Bi-Lingual Clerk position requires the successful candidate to be fluent in both English and Spanish and is responsible for performing clerical duties in support of the Superior Court Clerk to act as custodian of court records.

Essential Duties and Responsiblities:

  • Answers telephones, routes calls, takes messages, files cases and records.
  • Assists customers, responds to questions and requests from the public.
  • Accepts cases and legal documents for filing from public and attorneys.
  • Prepares subpoenas.
  • Research real estate filings, divorce files, and other records.
  • Prepares folders for new cases, records case dispositions in minute book and files same.
  • Receives and processes civil filings.
  • Certifies court documents, issues Notary Public certificates.
  • Receive and process appeals from lower courts, such as municipal and magistrate court as well as the Board of Equalization and Board of Workers   Compensation.
  • Receive and process appeals to the Georgia Court of Appeals and the Georgia Supreme Court.
  • Receive and prepare adoption files.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Must be able to speak Spanish fluently including the use of legal terminology and effectively communicate with Spanish speaking customers.

Minimum Qualifications: High school or GED with a minimum of (1) year in office functions or equivalent combination of education and experience to provide knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities of the position. Must be fluent in written/verbal Spanish.
