Salary:  $17.13 Hourly
Status:  Full Time/Hourly/Non-Exempt


Job Summary:
Under the direct supervision of the Fleet Services Senior Technician, this position is responsible for performing basic service functions, entry level mechanical repair, and assisting the Senior Technician in shop repairs. Examples of such duties will include vehicle/ equipment services, brake repair, and tire replacement. The Fleet Services mechanic will be repairing/servicing several automotive classifications of passenger vehicles and trucks, semi-trucks, heavy equipment (e.g., trailers, loaders, graders, paving equipment), etc.  The employee may be required to operate varied types of automotive equipment. Assist with fuel center operations. 

Job Requirements:
The preferred applicant must possess a high school diploma or GED; trade school apprenticeship program graduate preferred; or two years as a mechanic in a commercial, industrial, or facilities operations setting, and/or automotive repair training; or demonstrated experience and expertise to perform all essential elements of the position.  G1 Auto Maintenance and Light Repair ASE certifications or the ability to obtain within one year of employment.  A5 Brake Repair ASE certifications or the ability to obtain within one year of employment.  Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver’s license issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.  Applicant must possess a valid Georgia driver’s license and have no adverse driving records or felony conviction, and must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
