The purpose of this classification is to perform technical, professional level work to produce live and recorded video content for all areas of County government. Tasks include producing, filming, editing, and programming video content across multiple outlets for consumer access.

Job Summary

Produces live and recorded video news content for various mediums highlighting all areas of County government operations including Parks & Recreation, Fire Department, Animals Services, Engineering and more.

Directs, plans, records and edits videos from project inception to public release on varying deadlines.

Helps plan, coordinate and maintain the department’s video and audio recording equipment.
Records and produces live video operations for various County meetings for elected officials.
Receives, reviews, prepares and/or complete various documents including production requests, press releases, customer service requests, production forms, shot lists, tape logs and related documentation.

Operates related equipment including linear/editing equipment, video recording/playback equipment, multi-media software, broadcast cameras, analog edit/switching systems, audio mixer, and lighting kits; utilizes word processing, desktop publishing, spreadsheet, database and related programs.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent with technical school training in video production, photojournalism or related field and three or more years of experience in professional video production with experience operating related equipment and systems, programming, editing, camera work, directing and producing; or any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
