Glynn County Board of Commissioners is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Communications Director. Reporting to the County Manager, coordinating public communications and information for Glynn County by assisting departments and divisions with publicity for annually observed events, groundbreakings, ribbon-cuttings, and other special occasions. This position focuses on a broad range of public affairs, communications issues and policies, and ensures that division decisions effectively protect the County’s interest.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in mass communications, public relations, public administration or related field with a high-level knowledge of media relations and skilled knowledge of audio-visual equipment, presentation software, communication layout/graphic design software, media communication, and strong public speaking skills are required supplemented by a minimum of five (5) years of experience in media relations, government relations, and/or community relations, including spokesperson responsibilities for a complex public or private organization is desired.
Salary is commensurate with experience within the hiring range of $55,396 - $72,017. Placement within the range will be based upon the selected candidate’s qualifications. In addition to a competitive salary, Glynn County offers an excellent benefit package including:
