The City of Savannah Risk Management Department. seeks a highly qualified Risk Management Coordinator who is customer-service focused. Our ideal candidate is an efficient, dynamic, and cooperative individual who can perform well while juggling multiple tasks with little to no direct supervision. The ideal candidate will investigate and mitigate loss or potential loss to the city and reduce the monetary liability and safety of our workforce.  Employees are valued as the department's greatest asset. The Risk Management Department employs 6 personnel.

 Essential Job Functions:

  • Develops, coordinates and administers loss control plans and activities.
  • Investigates property loss and accidents.
  • Serves as a Haz-Mat responder and coordinates the clean-up of spill with City resources or authorizes outside agencies.
  • Provides technical expertise for problem solving in the areas of safety, loss control and other risk management areas.
  • Facilitates oversight and monitoring of motor vehicle record program, commercial driver's license program and drug and alcohol testing for post injury, post-accident, CDL, and safety sensitive programs.
  • Conducts annual on-site property inspections with insurance representative and ensures corrective actions are completed in a timely manner.
  • Works with Employee Development to conduct training classes in various areas of driving, accident and liability issues and Red Cross first aide/CPR.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned. 


 Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Business or Public Administration plus three (3) years of experience in accident investigation, risk management, safety regulation enforcement or appropriate certification with additional training in safety regulations, insurance, property adjusting, and risk management or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving history.

Additional Requirements
Background investigation, including supervised drug screen, post offer/pre-employment medical screen; and verification of education, certifications, and licenses required prior to employment.

Work Location: 6900 Sallie Mood Drive Work Hours: 8 am - 5 pm, Monday - Friday
