The City of Duluth, Georgia (pop. 30,000) is accepting applications for the position of full-time MAINTENANCE WORKER II in the Public Works Department.

Employees hired for this position perform semi-skilled manual work which is performed alone or as part of crew, involving grass cutting, weed eating and trash pickup.   Employees are required to perform heavy physical labor in all types of outdoor weather using a variety of tools and equipment.

A High School diploma, state-issued GED, or equivalent is required, with additional work-skill related training/experience required.

Applicants with previous experience in similar public works type jobs, specifically landscaping and other outdoor maintenance tasks is preferred.  Applicants with CDL, Class B are preferred.  

All candidates are subject to a background investigation, including criminal history, driving history, drug testing, and medical exams (including drug screening.)

Hiring pay range is $18.05 - $20.13 per hour; ($37,544 - $41,870 annualized full-time); pay grade 16. Starting salary is based on qualifications (work experience, education, training, and certifications.)
