Supervises the purchasing, receiving, storing, distribution and recycling/ disposal of electric material, tools, equipment, and products within establishments by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensures examination and documentation of all materials and supplies received from vendors
• Verifying proper quantities, weights, etc., of all materials and supplies ordered are received
• Completing visual inspections on materials and supplies to determine their condition and compliance with company standards
• Completes paperwork correctly and promptly; determining proper background information and authorizations are obtained and documented prior to disbursing materials and supplies.
• Monitors inventories to determine the availability of materials and supplies issued for line construction including:
• Determining adequate inventory levels based on established standards; reordering in a timely manner, when inventory levels deviate from set standards
• Ensures materials retired from construction lines are handled according to procedure
• Ensuring reusable materials and supplies are issued back to stock for later use; keeping adequate stock of non-inventory yet essential items such as signage, equipment & tools
• Filling work orders or requests for materials, tools or other stock items and distributes them to the proper locations in the warehouse
• Monitors and maintains necessary inventory of meters and reconnect collars
• Creating and balances monthly replacement and incidental maintenance construction work orders for materials used and/or salvaged
• Working with Crew Foremen to have construction materials pulled and available as needed for construction each day
• Creating labels for outgoing parcels and ensures shipped materials are properly handled in a timely manner.
• Ensures compliance with city safety, maintenance, and security requirements
• Ensuring materials, supplies and equipment are safely stored in assigned areas in a neat and orderly manner
• Verifying that only authorized personnel have access to storage facilities to ensure adequate security
• Monitoring access to hand tools and emergency items and assures issuance, as required
• Maintains adequate security of warehouse areas; and ensuring that the inside of the warehouse and dock areas are clean and orderly.
• Compiles information and records to prepare purchase orders for procurement of material by performing the following duties
• Compiles requisitions, places orders and keeps records for uniform requirements.
• Orders and accepts quotes on all rubber goods required to safely construct and maintain distribution lines.
• Assists the purchasing department as needed in setting up requests for quotations for materials.
• Requests bids according to specifications provided by purchasing department.
• Prepares, analyzes, and submits all required reports including receiving materials and equipment delivered in computer daily for accurate inventory reporting and prompt processing
• Submits accurate weekly transformer and conductor inventory reports, submits accurate semiannual and annual audit inventory count reports.
• Manages recycling and universal/e-waste disposal by keeping necessary containers on hand for collection of recyclable/un-recyclable waste, materials, and equipment
• Keeping applicable records necessary for compliance with Environmental regulations, calling for prompt pick-up of universal & e-waste containers as well as pick-ups of recyclable materials
• Maintains records of all metals and cardboard recycling pickups and payments received, and calling for pick-up
• Maintains records for all non-recyclable construction trash (i.e. fiberglass wastes, pole & pallet waste) to be taken to the landfill.
DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
• High school diploma or equivalent; and
• Five (5) years of experience in in handling materials, warehousing, and inventory control procedures, three (3) years of which must have been with an electric utility; or
• An equivalent combination of education and experience.
Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Excellent working knowledge of materials used in power line construction.
• Excellent planning and organizing skills.
• Ability to make supervisory decisions commensurate with responsibility and to supervise the work of others.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, percentages, and volume.
• Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Ability to figure wire conversion formulas
• Proficient personal computer skills
• Ability to accurately enter data into computer with reasonable speed
• Skilled in reading and interpreting staking sheets
• Knowledge of RUS material codes
• Previous supervisory experience preferred.
