POSITION SUMMARY:  

The incumbent assists the Aquatics Facility Supervisor in monitoring all guests and providing customer service while inside the aquatic facility area.  The incumbent assists with clean-up and ensures the facility area is free of trash and debris at all times.  The incumbent also performs facility cleaning of floors, decks, locker rooms/restrooms.

 

SCHEDULE:       Varies, hours are Monday – Sunday, 9:00 am – 6:00 pm

STATUS:               Part-time seasonal, up to 30 hours per week

 

Job Responsibilities/Duties

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitor guests as they enter and exit the aquatic facility.
  • Monitor guests during their utilization of pool slides/splash pad.
  • Assist patrons with concerns, questions in the event of incidents and/or accidents.
  • Monitor facility for trash and debris and perform appropriate clean-up.
  • Assist with the facility space cleaning including floors, decks, locker rooms/restrooms, etc.
  • Perform other related duties, as assigned.

 

Education and Experience

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

At least 15 years of age.

 

MANDATORY CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

CPR/First Aid or have ability to obtain certification.

  • Ability to effectively handle or properly refer customers’ concerns/complaints.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with patrons and staff.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to monitor guests entering and existing the aquatic facility.
  • Ability to monitor guests while using pool slides/splash pad.
  • Ability to interpret and explain safety rules and guidelines.
  • Ability to monitor facility for trash and debris cleanup and to perform maintenance.
  • Ability to ensure that facility space including floors, deck, restrooms, are kept clean.

 

Supervisory Controls: The incumbent receives work assignments from the Aquatics Facility Supervisor.

Guidelines: Guidelines include, in addition to adherence to City Personnel Policy, Federal, State and local laws, regulations, policies, procedures and standards.

Complexity:  Work requires analysis and judgment in accomplishing diversified duties. Work requires the exercise of independent thinking within the limits of guidelines, policies, standards, and precedents.

Scope and Effect:  The purpose of this position is to perform duties to assure a safe and efficient aquatic program and facility.

Personal Contacts:  Contacts are typically with coworkers, the public, city employees, elected officials, and other local governmental officials.

Purpose of Contacts:  Contacts are typically for providing aquatic program and facility services.

Supervisory Controls: The incumbent receives work assignments from the Aquatics Facility Supervisor.

Physical Demands:  The incumbent is regularly required to perform duties that require manual dexterity.   Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds.

 

Work Environment:  The work is typically performed outdoors at the pool facility or in an office for associated administrative functions.
