Listing Summary

As a part-time Planner within the Planning Division, you will be responsible for serving as backup point-of-contact for customer service needs, managing pre-application meetings for zoning related applications, and completing site visits for zoning-related applications. You will report directly to the Planning Manager.
 
Other essential duties include:

• Preparing staff case reports for the Planning Commission and Board of Commissioners
• Reviewing land development permits and building permits for compliance with the Unified Development Ordinance
• Communicating with other departments and outside agencies
• Attending meetings with residents, developers, design professionals, and others
• Attending Planning Commission and Board of Commissioner public hearings
• Completing special projects including master planning, research and analysis of planning and zoning-related topics, community engagement, and education and others

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in planning or related field
• Two years of planning experience,
• An equivalent combination of education; and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job will also be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in planning
• Three years of planning experience
• AICP Certification
• Experience working in a city or county planning department

$25.00 - $40.00 hourly, based on qualifications
