The Spalding County Board of Commissioners has an opening for a Community Development Director. This person should have a strong background in planning with proven leadership experience.
Directs all current and long-range County planning, manages the County’s building inspection program, GIS program, and Erosion & Sedimentation Control program. Serves as technical advisor to the Planning Commission, Board of Appeals, and County Manager.
Requires Bachelor’s Degree in planning (or a related field) from an accredited college or university and five years of supervisory/managerial experience in urban/regional planning and/or local government administration as directly related to urban service delivery; or a Master’s Degree in planning (or a related field) and three years of supervisory/managerial experience in urban/regional planning or local government administration as directly related to urban service delivery; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
