Jeffersonville City Attorney James P. Langstaff has announced his retirement as General Counsel for Jeffersonville once a qualified attorney or firm has been secured to take his place. The City of Jeffersonville is seeking a qualified attorney or firm to serve as City Attorney for the City of Jeffersonville Mayor and City Council beginning as soon as possible. The initial appointment and contract shall begin in 2022 and shall end on December 31, 2022, with a full year contract beginning January 1, 2023 to follow, if agreed by both parties. The City Attorney represents the City of Jeffersonville in any and all legal matters, with the general scope of work set out in Exhibit A attached hereto and made a part hereof. The Mayor and City Council has requested the assistance of the Middle Georgia Regional Commission in preparing this Request and having the same distributed to attorneys in the area. Should you know of an attorney or firm who may be interested, but who may not have received notice of this Request, please have the attorney make contact as provided herein so that a Request can be sent.
Responses to this solicitation are due no later than 2:00 p.m. on June 5, 2022. Sealed responses are due to: David Lane, Government Services Specialist[GB1] , Middle Georgia Regional Commission; 175 Emery Highway, Suite C; Macon, Georgia 31217. Upon receipt of proposals, a review team will evaluate the proposals and recommend to the Jeffersonville Mayor and City Council the top ranked firm or firms for an interview. Final selection of a City Attorney by the Jeffersonville Mayor and City Council will take place as soon as possible.
