This position reports to the Planning Director and has the possibility to be promoted to Planning Director should the position become vacant. Responsibilities include assisting in coordinating, overseeing and evaluating a variety of planning and development functions, activities, programs and services, to include planning and land use reviews, the comprehensive plan, land development ordinances, zoning, building permits/inspections, code enforcement; serves as an advisor to the Planning Director, Board of Commissioners, Planning Commission, and other County staff, residents, the business community and the general public on planning related issues. A Bachelor's Degree and over ten years directly related professional and supervisory experience, Master's Degree and over five years directly related professional and supervisory experience or equivalent education, and/or experience required. Preferential consideration will be given to candidates holding an American Institute of Certified Planners Certification and Georgia Soil and Water Conservation Level I and II certifications. Possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license.
