Recreation Coordinator


Listing Summary

The City of Milton is looking for a highly qualified individual to serve as the full-time Recreation Coordinator. The Recreation Coordinator is primarily responsible for creating and enhancing the opportunities for Milton residents to participate in and oversee the facility rental operations for the City’s Parks and Recreation Department.

List of Responsibilities:

  • Coordination of all non-athletics recreation programming
    • Scheduling
    • Identification and securing of new recreational programming
    • Program contract management
    • Program/instructor payments
    • Senior Center liaison for programming
  • Coordination of all facility rentals
    • Engagement with citizens via phone and email regarding facility amenities
    • Maintain facility rental calendars
    • Processing of refunds
    • Facility checks following rentals
    • Coordination with other staff members regarding special event permitting
  • Park & facility supervision during scheduled activity– occasional nights and weekends
  • Assist in execution of special events
  • Maintain the department’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) Handbook
  • Maintain record of performance metrics for the department
  • Serves as the department’s website administrator (no graphic design experience required)
  • Procurement, Invoicing, and Collections for department-wide needs
  • Assist Parks and Recreation staff
  • Other duties/tasks as assigned

Minimum Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Parks/Recreation, Public Administration, Sports Management or a related field
  • A minimum of 2 years' administrative experience in a government parks and recreation setting; and experience in coordination or development of parks and recreation programs
  • Or any equivalent combination of education and experience to meet the above stated responsibilities
  • Certified Youth Sports Administrator (CYSA) preferred
  • Satisfactory motor vehicle record and the ability to attain/provide a valid State driver’s license

Annual Pay Rate:

  • $43,000-$47,000 salary
