PURPOSE OF CLASSIFICATION
The purpose of this classification is to provide coordination of Water Resources projects, including assisting the Director, Assistant Director and Project/Program Administrator with project management, program management, and contract management. This position reports to Assistant Director of Water Resources.
The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
Assists with special projects such as GPS, GIS, lift stations, manholes, treatment plant, water and sewer lines, force mains, pumping stations, meters, storage reservoirs, treatment processes, plant equipment, etc.
Under the direction of the Director of Water Resources and/or senior staff, assists in activities required for the planning, design, bidding, negotiation, and award of bid packages, plans, and specifications of Water Resources infrastructure projects.
Assists in construction management of Water Resources infrastructure projects to ensure technical accuracy and compliance with Federal, State, and local regulations.
Attends, participates in departmental meetings such as project updates, Award Program management, pre-construction meetings, etc.
Will assist upper level management with various requirements of program, safety, and project management.
Field work will be required but not limited to data collection, water and sewer line repair, meter installation, manhole rehabilitation, lift station maintenance, etc.
Adheres to all County Safety Policies and Procedures.
Candidate will be expected to possess a County mobile telephone and other digital equipment for Departmental use during work hours and/or during on-call hours. The position requires the candidate to operate a County vehicle during performance of work tasks.
Associate’s Degree in Environmental Science, GIS, Engineering Technology or related field is preferred but not required. Experience in the design or review of Water Resources and infrastructure projects is preferred. Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities for this position may be considered. Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia Driver’s license.
Candidate must pass and obtain a Georgia Distribution and a Georgia Collection System license within 18 months of hire.p >
