Plans, monitors, and performs duties related to the operational maintenance and cleanliness of the Frances Meadows Center to provide quality and efficient public services.

 Job Duties

Performs periodic quality inspections of the entire facility to include public areas, pools and pump rooms, and all mechanical and operating systems. 
Prepares daily work schedule, discusses cleaning standards; reviews event set-ups to assure customer satisfaction; performs preventative maintenance and minor repair projects as identified and/or assigned.
Supervises, monitors and assists custodial staff to assure proper cleaning practices are maintained throughout all the facility.
Conducts preventative maintenance checks and minor repairs on all heating and cooling systems, alarm equipment, sound and lighting equipment; electrical and plumbing systems, mechanical/chemical pool systems, and miscellaneous equipment to ensure all systems function properly; performs after-hours emergency repairs as needed.

Plans and assigns work, reviews and evaluates performance of employees as needed; provides guidance, discusses problems or concerns, trains and counsels staff as necessary to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
Coordinates the collection and analysis of data; develops performance goals and measures for the maintenance of the facility; maintains maintenance records; evaluates and provides necessary reports to the Facility Operations and Division Managers.
Assists Division Managers in the development of budgets; makes recommendations on equipment and capital needs; monitors approved expenditures to assure compliance to budget; maintains cleaning and maintenance supply inventories; purchases supplies.

Minimum Qualifications

Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or GED
Vocational School Diploma or Certificate in Plumbing or Electrical.
Minimum of 3-5 years of building maintenance experience.
Minimum 3-5 years of previous experience and/or training involving indoor/outdoor swimming pool maintenance.
Any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the minimum level of qualifications stated above.
Licenses and Certifications:
Valid Class C Driver’s License and a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
AFO and/or CPO Certification.
Certified in CPR, First Aid and AED.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of basic electrical, carpentry, and plumbing methods and standards.
Knowledge of how to calculate the appropriate amount of chemicals to pool systems.
Knowledge of a variety of skilled trades such as carpentry and painting.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing.
Skill in operation and solving problems of a technical nature.
Knowledge of current health, sanitation and safety codes for public swimming facilities.
Ability to use independent judgment and discretion in managing subordinates including handling of emergency situations, determining and deciding upon procedures implemented, setting priorities, maintaining standards, and resolving problems.
